Cream Workshop

We (LSS) went to Nan Yang (again) for a cream formation workshop!

Same place, same instructors and same gifts! XD

Made an antiseptic cream that's blue in colour but somehow looks like toothpaste. I also added strawberry fragrance into it but i don't think there's a difference...
My phone was spoilt -.- I'm not sure what happened but i can't take any photos. So i took some photos using Joh.'s phone. Hopefully he'll send them to me. *crosses my fingers*

On the bus to and fro, Jo., YJ, QL, Y. and me sat at the last row of the bus seats. :D First time sitting there, cause usually there would always be people (V's Gang :) ) there.

Haha! I believe we made plenty of noise coming back to our school ^__^

The judge, the juries, the accused, the victim and the accomplices.

:D

(points towards Joh) Me: 'Penalty!'

Jo., YJ, QL, Y. : 'Punishment?'

Me: ' Excution!'

Y. : 'By electrocution!'

Hehehe

I kinda enjoy my years in Sec 3 and 4. I am evious of the free time i had in Sec 1 and 2 but not of my social life. To those who were in the same class as me from Sec 1 till now, i'm sure you also prefer me this way right?

I know i do.

:D I feel that my social reach has increased greatly. And i'm very pleased about that. ^___^

Did you know? Elizabeth Báthory

Since i know you want a rest from my (stupid and unhappening) life, here's a  Did You Know?  for you.

Countess Elizabeth Báthory is remembered as the "Blood Countess".

She and four collaborators were accused of torturing and killing hundreds of girls and young women, one that might be over 600 victims! Elizabeth herself was neither tried nor convicted. In 1610, however, she was imprisoned in the Csejte Castle, where she remained bricked in a set of rooms until her death four years later.
The case of Elizabeth Báthory inspired numerous stories, like the countess bathing in her victims' blood in order to retain her beauty or youth.

Manga Review: Yuru Koi, by Yoshino Aki

Manga Review: Yuru Koi, by Yoshino Aki

Quitting her job, Suzu comes back to her hometown after six years. On her way back home, she fell into a hole, and was saved by Sou, the guy who dug that hole. Her first impression of him was horrible. But Suzu started to be attracted by this guy, who weaved his way into her heart before she realized it?!

Yuru Koi is also translated as All Love.

The art is beautiful, the characters are awesome. Makes me feel all warm and bubbly when i read it.

Book Review: The Stolen Princess, by Anne Gracie

Book Review: The Stolen Princess, by Anne Gracie

She's fast becoming one of my favorite authors. It was a stroke of luck that i was able to read this book.:D

The younger son of an earl, Gabriel Fitzpaine earned glory and honor on the battlefield, but now, without purpose, he finds himself deliberately courting danger at every turn. Then one night he races his horse along a death-defying moonlit cliff-and stumbles upon a princess on the run.

It's an amazing blend of a strong willed heroine and a sensitve yet macho hero. ;)
Really liked how the story goes. It's almost as if i'm watching the story unfold before my very eyes, like i'm just standing in front of them!

Callie is running away from the people who wants to hurt her son to gain the throne. She's afraid for Nicky and so decides to hide in her ex-governess home. However, she meets with some obstacles, leading to an encounter with Gabriel.

So she hides in his house for a few days. And this is on the second day:

She delibrately slowed her pace and stopped to stare earnestly at a flower. She had no idea what it was; she'd never been good at botany, but he didn't know that.

He stopped beside her and waited. She felt the warm wash of his gaze flow over her. And ignored it. She stared hard at the flower. He bent and peered it over her shoulder.

"Fastinating," she murmured, trying not to be aware of the proximity of his big, masculine body.

"Utterly," he agreed fervently. "Something special, do you think?"

She frowned thoughtfully over the small, blue-flowered plant. "It could well be," she said, hoping he was no botanist.

"It definitely could be," he agreed. "If only creeping charley was not regarded as a weed in England." He paused a moment, then added, "Shall i get someone to pull it out before it spreads, or would you rather paint it or press it in your Weeds of England scrapbook?"

She continued the walk in dignified silence. He strolled along beside her.

I was smiling all the way while i copied this. :)
It's really a great book. One designed to make you smile. 4 out of 5. It's a good past time when you have nothing else to do.

Hope you enjoy it,
Ed

Breakfast

It's been a long time since i had breakfast at McDonalds.

The hotcakes set is still the same, but somehow seems bigger than before.... While the burger, the one that has meat in it and the so-called bread that tastes something like the cakes, is smaller.

.... +___+ I wonder why....

Sports Day 2010~

It's the last (hopefully) Sports Day in my secondary life. Much better than last year.

Our class was seated at the end, and was sheltered from the blazing heat of the sun and i was actually playing attention to it! The previous time i just sat and read throughout the event. Maybe the reason why i paid so close attention was that i'm closer to my classmates this year than last.

Anyway, there was our school's Band performing and Teachers' Relay!

Hehehe took plenty of photos!

Let off at ~12.15pm

Photobucket
Beware! The march of Yusoffians

Took 198 bus to Buona Vista MRT station but got off too early. =__= ... Alighted at KK hospital ..... Didn't want to spend money to board on the same bus again so i decided to walk.

Photobucket Photobucket

Then took a bus near Fairfield Secondary School to Dover MRT.

So all's good. I didn't get lost! Yay!

While i was walking in an unknown area (to me it is), there are parts of Singapore that i haven't discover. Buildings that the names are like strangers.

So, after O level, i will be exploring Singapore with Joey from morning until night with the two of us. It's like a self-explore tour of another country, since i'm only concentrated in a few areas.

:)

Hope you enjoy your day today too!
It's gonna rain, i can feel it.

Wist List

Out of all the things in the world, only these few have caught my attention.

*ahem*

An e-reader.

I am waiting for the day that i'll get it. Hopefully, it'll be on my *cough*birthday*cough*.

Next up is the e-books.... If i don't have the e-books to read, why the hell do i even need it? which is why i need them.

Third is BOOKS!! All you readers will know i'm an avid lover of romance books. So, *grin* the only time you see me without my books, is when i have a mental problem or when i'm dead.

A few on my books wistlists are:

- Perfect Series, by Anne Gracie ("___")

-Wallflowers Series, by Lisa Kleypas (>__<)
- W Juliet Manga, by Emura (I know, i know it's a manga but it's soo good!)

If you are able to get me some of these things, i will--quite simply--be indebted to you forever and ever. :D
Hahaha.

You're wrong

To those who think i'm a hardworking person, you're sorely mistaken. If only you knew what i usually do in the privacy of my home (read: books). I don't spend my time studying like a manic.

In fact, in this week, i have done NOTHING at all, except reading books, which even though i know won't improve my studies i'm still doing it.

I am such a sucker for books.

And i am proud of it.

Today, i went down to Bras Basah.

*grin*

And bought the book i wanted and waited for 4 months!!! Blaze of Memory.

And bought another surprise book. Again the Magic.

I feel that if books were human, i would have plenty of BFs already.

*grin*

Hehehe. BTW, there's a sale at Bras Basah Complex. Chinese books, Fiction books. Most cost around $1. GO THERE! DON'T MISS IT!

Kk, see you around!

Book Review: A Wallflower Christmas by Lisa Kleypas

Reaaaally like all of Kleypas' historical romances ^_____^

The best i think i the Wallflowers series.

In A Wallflower Christmas, it's like a sequel of the series, except it's told from Hannah's (heroine) perspective. Annabelle, Lillian, Evie, and Daisy are back again to conquer the world!! YAY!

Here's the summary:

It's Christmastime in London and Rafe Bowman has arrived from America for his arranged meeting with Natalie Blandford, the very proper and beautiful daughter of Lady and Lord Blandford. His chiseled good looks and imposing physique are sure to impress the lady in waiting and, if it weren't for his shocking American ways and wild reputation, her hand would already be guaranteed. Before the courtship can begin, Rafe realizes he must learn the rules of London society. But when four former Wallflowers try their hand at matchmaking, no one knows what will happen. And winning a bride turns out to be more complicated than Rafe Bowman anticipated, especially for a man accustomed to getting anything he wants. However, Christmas works in the most unexpected ways, changing a cynic to a romantic and inspiring passion in the most timid of hearts.

Anyway, an excerpt from the book,

"..There is something i must talk to you about first." Damn it, there was a quaver in her voice, despite her attempt to sound calm and dignified.

Marcus's expression changed as he heard the distress in her tone. He pulled her up to face him, and he stared down at her with instant concern. "What is it, my love?"

Lillian took a deep breath. Another. Her fear and anger and worry were so great, it was hard to force the words out. "I...I should not stand in the way of your ... pursuits outside marriage. I know that. I understand how it is with your kind... I mean, you've done it for centuries, and i suppose it was too much for me to ask that you--that i--would be enough. All i ask is that you be discreet. Because it isn't easy to watch you with her--the way you smile, and--" She stopped and covered her face with her hands, mortified to feel tears springing to her eyes. Bloody hell.

"My kind?" Marcus sounded bewildered. "What have i done for centuries? Lillian, what the hell are you talking about?"

..."Lady Kittridge"

There was a short, shocked silence.

...He gave her a little shake. "Lillian... Am i to understand that you think i have a personal interest in her?"

... "..tired of me," she said, her voice cracking. "That you want someone else."
Marcus stared at her and let out a string of curses.."Come with me."...

He took her across the courtyard, to the stables.
Lillian blinked in surprise. "A white Arabian?".. "She looks like something out of a fairy tale."
He gave her a sardonic glance. "She's your Christmas present."
"Oh." Lillian was suddenly breathless.
"It's taken me six damn months to make the arrangements," Marcus continued curtly. "Lady Kittridge .. is very particular about whom she'll sell one of her Arabians to. And as this horse been promised to someone else, i had to bride and threaten the other buyer, and pay a bloody fortune to Lady Kittridge."
"And that's why you've been communicating so often with Lady Kittridge?"
"Yes." He scowled at her. .. "And in return for my pains," he growled, "I'm accused of infidelity! I love you more than life. Since i met you, I've never even thought of another woman. And how you think i could have the desire for someone else when we spend every bloody night together is beyond my powers of comprehension!"
.. She was filled with a combination of giddy relief and alarm. "Marcus, every thing's settled. I believe you. I'm not at all worried now."

"You should be worried," he said with chilling softness. "Because it's clear that unless there are consequences for this lack of faith in me this problem may arise in the future. So I'm about to remove any doubt about what i want and from whom."

.."Come here," he said quietly, his expression implacable.
... He kissed her, his mouth rough and greedy... "Marcus," Lillian gasped, "I'll never doubt you again ... Oh, God..."

He smiled privately against her hair... "See that you don't," he muttered.

*cheeky grin* Hehehee

Oh wasn't that so romantic? Especially

I love you more than life. Since i met you, I've never even thought of another woman.

Hahaha, which is more than what the real man nowadays would do.

*dreamy sigh* Lisa Kleypas's heros are always soooooooo alpha-ish (In a good way). *grin*

Goodbye amigos!

Alice in Wonderland

Just finished watching Alice in Wonderland with Si Yuan.

(the 'passed' picture)

*sigh* It's been a year since we met. The last time was in may 2009, when we were having Mid Year Exams.

:D So long ago! But we reacquainted ourselves :)

was great! The special effects was fantastic. It seemed that there was another alternate dimension other than this world (which is good).
Even after we left the cinema i kept complaining -_- about from being in the fantasy world to being grounded in this (stupid) reality....

Hope to be in contact with Si Yuan again!
And just to further embarrass myself, here's the

Book Review: Weddings from hell

Book Review: Weddings from hell

Some marriages are made in heaven . . . Some are not.

What happens when "the happiest day of your life" turns into a nightmare? Forget the drunken best man or the bridesmaid dresses from the '80s . . . none of these wedding day disasters can compare to a cursed bride determined to make it down the aisle, or a vampire who is about to disrupt your wedding.

Join New York Times bestselling authors Maggie Shayne and Jeaniene Frost, USA Today bestseller Kathryn Smith, as well as Terri Garey in four unforgettable tales of unholy matrimony . . . where the grooms are dark, dangerous, and mostly dead, and to love and cherish till death takes on a whole new meaning.

The first story starts off by Maggie Shayne, Till Death. About a descendant who was cursed by her ancestor t to die by her husband's hands should be betray her (having an affair).

I didn't like this story. I think the author was more used to writing novels than a 91 page short story. I get the feeling that she's rushing. The love between Kira (heroine) and Ian (hero) was like a wham-i-love-you! type of story. The story focuses on the curse and the heroine trying to get rid of the curse than the love story between Kira and Ian.

So, no. I didn't like this.

The second story is the reason why i borrowed this book. (Title: Happily Never After)

JEANIENE FROST!!!!!!!!!!!

She is the author of the Night Huntress Series and you won't be disappointed when you READ IT!!

This story is great, great, GREAT! Absolutely book-tastic! Plus Bones is in it!!! XD Oh how i love Bones *sigh* He's just the perfect man. *dreamy sigh* Nearly fainted when i saw Bones' name in the story XXDDDD Hahaha!

For some, their crush is

But i will never stray from my crush!!! Never!

Trust me on this Bones! Believe me!!

This (great!) story is about vampires. Here's the blob: To save her brother, Isabella is about to reluctantly walk down the aisle with Mr. Dangeroulsy Wrong ... unless Chance, a dashing vampire, can derail this wedding of the beauty to the beast.

Then the excerpt concerning Bones!!!! (XD ahahaha!)

The old woman smiled. "Do you know what you two are?" she asked in an amused voice. ...

"Yeah, we're the guys robbing you!" the one with the knife snapped.

"No," said a voice from the other end of the alley, an English accent decorating his words. "You're dinner."

Before the two could blink, they were dangled by their throats from pale, rock-steady hands. One was yanked close to the black-clad figure. The stranger's eyes changed from brown to glowing green as he dipped his head to the exposed throat. The youth's partner in crime, still hoisted aloft, could only make terrified grunts as he watched fangs pierced his friend's neck. ....

The stranger wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and then pulled the old woman to him. ...

"I was thinking you'll be hungry Bones..."

He chuckled. .. "Same old Greta. Always finding ways to please her blokes."

Bones' beautiful face hadn't change with time.. Time ...had no power over the blond vampire standing in front of her.

The appearance of Bones!!!

I just fell harder in love *shiny eyes*

Great story!!!!

The third story i skipped.

The forth is by Kathryn Smith, The Wedding Knight. It is set in the historical times. Hero is a vampire, the heroine is a woman who fell in love with the hero and sets off to make him fall in love with her. This is a bit confusing, especially with the plot about the hero's ties with an organisation. But i like the ending.

Even with Jeaniene Frost's (great!) story, i will (reluctantly) give the book a 3 out of 5. The other 3 stories weren't what i wanted when i choose a paranormal book. Too rushed! :(

But still enjoyed reading HAPPILY NEVER AFTER!

Physics SPA

Physics SPA ..... fail.

... No other comment.

For those who can't help but feel anguished about the SPA experiment, just put it out of your mind. It works! I can't even remember what i did there!
Don't worry about it.
Don't always look behind. Look forward, just deal with what the future holds for us.
Just like what i'm doing! By deleting your SPA memory space and replacing them with other interesting bits eg: Books!!! Hahaha!

Chatting on Facebook

Facebook, to me, is just connecting with strangers and friends. The games there are . ......
But it seems i have two person to talk to (Joey) and argue ( Johby) there. Quite fun i must say. >__> XD

And it started with me rolling the ball.

Then someone randomly appears. Extra!!

Hahah.
Nothing (interesting) else left in my life (for now) so,
Good Bye!

Physics SPA

... O levels are starting to haunt me....

>__<

I'm worried what question for the SPA is coming up... What if it's the very complicated questions? What if i have to do so many formulas i forgot how to continue? What if i cannot do it?

ARHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *pulls my hair off*

If this is just the start off O level, i wonder how i will fare during the ACTUAL O LEVEL EXAMS??!!

Aaaaaahhhh!!! *runs around screaming my head off*

...........

And this is only a small part of my life ....... *sigh*

Full Moon~

Did you know :

- Full Moons are traditionally associated with temporal insomnia, insanity and various "magical phenomena". Also, people were more likely to make an attempt on their life when there was a new moon.

O.O I've never heard that before.

- To see the crescent moon over the right shoulder was considered lucky, but seeing it over the left shoulder was unlucky.

- And if the full moon fell on a Friday that was also the 13th, it was considered to be the most unlucky day there could be.

- It is often said that if a person was born at a full moon, he or she would have a lucky life.

- It is said that cats' eyes will be open wider during a full moon than at any other time.

- Moon Folklore

(Should have posted this on 2nd March, Tues, since that's the day which had a full moon, but i was too busy >__< )

Skin Privileges

It's the first day of the month!! Yay!! No tests for this two weeks (probably)

People who visited my blog and post on my tag box, i thank you for spending your time and effort to read my posts. I humbly bow and thank you.

Today is the 1st of March 2010, and a Monday.

Don't you think time passes too fast? I can still remember vividly last week when i got my allowance money. And the face on my mother when she said "So fast?" Haha :D

Anyway, i wanted to post a post about Skin Privileges. Like in the world of Psy-Changeling of Nalini Singh, we, humans, are also particular about who's touching us. We are more comfortable when a trusted person (eg: your parents or girl/boyfriends) are touching us than when a stranger does that.

Not THAT type of touching (get rid of the horny thoughts in your mind) but something along the lines of resting your knee against his/her, sitting close to him/her on the seats when usually, with a stranger, there would be a small yet visible line between you and that stranger.

You can easily see whether one knows the person sitting beside them (on the bus/train). If one does, she (in this case) would most probably lean towards one another while if she didn't know the other person, there would be a gap in between them.

The reason? Most people do not feel comfortable woth a stranger touching them, because they don't know them at all. Hence, there is no skin privileges granted to the stranger by her.

With friends, you can see the difference. She allows her friends to sit close to her, without thinking anything uncomfortable about it. However, she does not let her friends become too touchy with her. She does not let her male friends kiss her (unless she feels an attraction to him too). That is only reserved for her lovers/boyfriends.

So there is also a boundary between the skin privileges she grants to her boyfriends/lovers, her friends and strangers.

Most of us are like that too, aren't we? We are certainly very particular about who's touching who, don't you agree?

Ending off, I would like to thank YOU who are still reading this post and i hope to see you again ^__^
